Getting Organized aka Photos Everywhere

imageThis mess really does have some order to it. It has been a long process to organize, identify and scan…and all of these photos are only from one box. This is step one for me to making a family tree book for a part of my family. The goal is to scan and save high quality digital images of the photos, digitally clean up the ones in poor shape, and to share them with the family.

  1. I spent a few hours yesterday scanning old photos and organizing them (I still need to do the editing). It’s the part of genealogy I like the least! Scanning is so boring. Do you use a flatbed scanner or something else? I can scan 6 at a time on my flatbed, and it saves each photo separately, but nevertheless it is time consuming!

  2. Looks like you have some work ahead of you. The better you organize the photographs the better chance they will have of being handed down for generations.
